Over the Easter holidays, my daughter, Mariel, joined an online photo contest themed around the environment. Here’s her entry (starring herself holding a Luntian Bag) which she conceptualized and art directed. Location and shoot courtesy of my hubby. It means a lot to me that my kids believe in my cause and support me. I’m a proud mom! :)

I am currently working on new designs which I hope will be out soon (no commitments though). If you have a design or know anyone who is interested in submitting one, I would welcome them. I hope to be able to support budding artists if I can.

Thanks to the following for featuring Luntian Bags! Every bit of publicity helps tremendously- “A Sweet Life” for inviting me to their show in QTV last January 7, hosted by the stunning Lucy Torres and the vivacious Wilma Doesnt…

I came out in ABS-CBN’s Bandila last Thursday, Dec 6 and in Cathy Babao-Guballa’s column in the Philippine Daily Inquirer last Dec 16 (thanks, Cathy!).

And what an honor for my “Rizal” Luntian Bag to be featured right beside Rajo Laurel’s bags! Check out this month’s Metro magazine. Rajo has this wonderful program where women from Payatas make bags out of rags.

ShopCrazy and ShopTalk

Thanks to CherryTheManicShopper for featuring my bags in ShopCrazy!

Thanks, too, to ShopTalk for inviting me to guest in their show in ANC today, hosted by Pia Hontiveros, which was themed “Projects for A Cause”. There’s a replay tomorrow night at midnight (that’s Wed, 14 Nov).

At ShopTalk, I met 3 wonderful women, my fellow guests – Nina Lim-Yuson who makes beautiful travel sketch books, Sana Sta. Ana who makes wonderful and functional travel journals, and Nikki Dy-Liacco whose book “The Yellow Paperclip with Bright Purple Spots” makes you want to pack now and go discover the world. Part of their sales go to ATD Fourth World Philippines, an NGO that works with families living in poverty. It’s heartwarming to meet these people who also have day jobs and manage to pursue their passions while helping others.

I apologize if I may be slow in replying to your emails, comments and text messages. I have a day job- the job that pays the bills :) so my day is quite busy. But I promise to reply in the evenings. But fyi I’m in San Teodoro on weekends where I have no access to email. Thanks for your patience!

Luntian Bags are reusable bags made of canvas that come in different designs and sizes. The purpose of the bags is to help reduce plastic bag pollution by using reusable bags instead of wasting plastic ones. These bags are stylish, earth-friendly and carry a message. So for your next trip to the grocery or mall, BYOB. Read this Time article.

Luntian Bags are products of a livelihood program in San Teodoro, Mabini, Batangas.

Luntian (lún-tee-an) means green in Filipino.

Important: Pls click here to see Christmas packaging for 2008.

I think the bags would make great Christmas gifts so I’m including free Christmas packaging for deliveries starting December. This means that you can place your order anytime (even before Dec) but if you want your order delivered before December 1, it will come without the Christmas packaging. Due to the busy Christmas season, I suggest you place your order asap to ensure that I don’t run out of stock especially if you’re thinking of a large quantity.
